As beautiful as your home might be, it’s likely there are a few features that are less than appealing. Thinking about this, I decided to list the top three ugliest features in the home, and what you can do to make them beautiful.
Roof
Your roof is probably far uglier than you might think. Most people don’t even know how ugly their roof is as they don’t get a good look at it. But, over time, weather and goodness knows what else can beat your roof and leave it looking very worse for wear. Roofing tiles can get cracked, and there could even be things like moss growing through the gaps. All in all, it doesn’t make for a very good look.
To sort out this issue, you could invest in a new roof. Get rid of your old tiles and buy some that are more modern looking. Not only will they look shiny and new, but they’ll also be built to last. So, you should see less wear and tear in the future, meaning your roof can look beautiful for longer.
Radiators
Radiators are potentially the ugliest feature in your home. The reason for this is because they tend to just stick out like a sore thumb. Amazingly beautiful rooms can be ruined by an ugly radiator. Traditional ones are made purely to heat rooms not to look good, so they are truly disgusting. The paint always chips away, which only adds to how bad they look. Plus, to make things even worse, radiators are dust and cobweb magnets. The back of them is always full of cobwebs that just enhance the ugliness.
Thankfully, there are two ways you can fix this ugly issue. The first is to replace your radiators with new and gorgeous ones. There are loads of places like Warmehaus that sell modern designer radiators than can enhance a room rather than bring it down. Alternatively, you can get rid of radiators and install underfloor heating instead. It completely eradicates any ugliness, but it does require some effort to install.
Doors
If you’re not careful, the doors in your house can be a really ugly feature. Most of us don’t care for our doors as much as we should, leaving them to become quite grotesque. The problem with ugly doors is that they’re very noticeable - especially if it’s your front door. Much like your roof, this can get battered by the elements and be left with scuff marks, stains, and who knows what else.
Sometimes, you can deal with an ugly door problem simply by using some elbow grease and giving it a good old clean. Other times, you’re better off just replacing it with something newer and better looking. Or, you could replace the handles of a door with new ones and give the door a clean. It sounds strange, but this subtle change can make a huge difference.
Don’t let these ugly features ruin a gorgeous home! Think about the little tips in this piece and you can make everything in your home look beautiful.
